Fronted by the enigmatic Benny ‘C’ Cunningham, who’s vocal tone and guitar playing is straight from the pages of classic blues and 60/70’s funk, with the Associates song writing duo of Steve and Ange Portolesi, along with drumming sensation Kelvin Sugars…..
Most recent news, the Associates were Semi-Finalists at the 33rd International Blues Challenge held in Memphis (Tennessee USA) February ‘17. Here, they represented ARBA as 1 of around 4 bands from Australia along with approx 300 acts from all over the globe. This the 33rd version of the IBC held significant profile within the global blues music community. Industry representatives come from all around the world came to hear some of the best bands and performers right on Beale St – the heart of Blues Music territory. The success The Associates achieved on this stage has lead to global exposure and a significant increase in their profile. A groudswell of interest is gathering from all corners of the globe in The Associates since their outstanding performances at the IBC. Anticipation for their second album release is high.
